Last night, friends, family, former employees, customers, and fans of Charlie Trotter gathered outside his Chicago restaurant Charlie Trotter's for a candlelight vigil to remember the chef. Trotter died yesterday at the age of 54. Local chefs including Art Smith and Didier Durand were on hand to pay their respects. Candles and tokens of appreciation for Trotter's career — including a copy of Trotter's book Lessons in Exellence — lined the steps of the restaurant. More photos below:
