Los Angeles baker/confectioner Valerie Gordon (of Valerie Confections, which has three locations around L.A.), stopped by Google to give a talk based on her newish cookbook, Sweet. In what's essentially a 40-minute primer on how to make jam (conducted while Gordon literally stirs the pot), the sweets mker offers her tips for creating strawberry jam, including discussions of pectin sacks, agave sugars, and the use of herbs. Also, a pro-tip for budding jammers: "What grows together goes together." Go, watch:
