Aviary's Ticket System; Emeril's Boudin and Bourbon Fest

CHICAGOGrant Achatz and Nick Kokonas' bar the Aviary announced on Twitter today that it has launched an online reservation/tickets system, spurring a response from Price Hike critic Ryan Sutton: "Reservation 'deposits' are $20 per person. Groundbreaking for a bar, non?" Kokonas responded directly to the Tweet: "over $5,000 in tickets / deposits in first 30 minutes. Also we will still take walk ins as available." [Twitter]

NEW ORLEANS— Tickets are still available for chef Emeril Lagasse's annual Boudin, Bourbon & Beer celebration, scheduled for this Friday, November 8. Eater NOLA reports that the likes of Mario Batali, John Besh, and John Currence (among 40 other chefs) will each serve up their take on the boudin sausage; tickets are $99 and available here. LOS ANGELESUmami Burger empire builder Adam Fleischman has announced plans to close his year-and-a-half-old restaurant/bar UMAMIcatessen. After a quick revamp (that sees the addition of a private dining room), the space will re-open as Umami Broadway, offering the Umami Burger menu and a separate, non-burger menu specifically designed for private dining.
