24 Food & Drink Events for November and Beyond

While the year may be winding down, the culinary calendar is still running at full tilt with festivals, congresses, talks, and collaborative dinners taking place everywhere from Denver to Dubai. Events this month celebrate the South with a first-ever food conference for Santa Fe, tastings at Eater Eve, and insane dinners at the Music to Your Mouth festival. Local chefs in both New York City and Washington, DC are gearing up for the huge one-night-only tasting events that are New York Taste and the Capital Food Fight, respectively. Chicago's Grant Achatz is dropping in on Alex Stupak in New York for a riff on a Thanksgiving dinner as part of the Push Project. And Le Fooding is bringing some of France's most renowned female chefs together for a series of dinners called Le Clan Des Madones. Here now, the full lineup of food and drink events for November and beyond:

Semana Mesa SP
When: November 4 — November 8, 2013
Where: Sao Paulo, Brazil
What: Semana Mesa SP returns to Brazil in November with a killer line-up of international chefs on hand to explore gastronomy and its many influences. Participating chefs include Massimo Bottura, Christian Puglisi, Magnus Nilsson, Alex Atala, and this year's theme is a nod to the ancestry of food.

Chefs Collaborative Sustainable Food Summit
When: November 3 — November 5, 2013
Where: Charleston, SC
What: Chefs Collaborative is hosting its fifth annual Sustainable Food Summit in Charleston this year with panels and workshops built around the theme of "Looking Back, Cooking Forward." Workshops include vegetable fermentation with Sandor Katz, microbes and flavor with Momofuku culinary lab director Dan Felder, and a panel on "hogonoics" moderated by Barry Estabrook.

Cookbook Launch: L.A. Son by Roy Choi, with Anthony Bourdain
When: November 5, 2013
Where: New York, NY
What: LA's Roy Choi celebrates the launch of his cookbook L.A. Son: My Life, My City, My Food with Anthony Bourdain this week at Brooklyn's Powerhouse Arena. Choi and Bourdain will engage in an on-stage conversation, as well as an audience Q&A and a DJ set from Francine Molina. Momofuku and Momofuku Milk Bar will be providing the food for the event, tickets for which include a copy of the book itself.

Millesime Mexico
When: November 5 — November 7, 2013
Where: Mexico City, Mexico
What: Chefs from across Mexico and beyond are gathering for this international culinary congress at the Centro Banamex in Mexico City. Participants include Enrique Olvera, Virgilio Martinez, Rodolfo Guzman, Masaharu Morimoto, and more coming together over the course of the festival to create meals together.

Denver International Wine Festival
When: November 6 — November 9, 2013
Where: Denver, CO
What: The four-day Denver International Wine Festival will offer wine-lovers vintners dinners, seminars, guided tastings, plus a Grand Tasting showcasing more than 400 wines.

Push Project IV With Grant Achatz & Alex Stupak
When: November 7, 2013
Where: New York, NY
What: Chicago's Grant Achatz joins New York City chef Alex Stupak in the kitchen at Empellón Cocina for this fourth installment of Stupak's "Push Project" series of guest-chef dinners. Achatz and Stupak are working together to put their spin on Thanksgiving dinner, offering 12 courses with a beverage pairing for $325 per person.

Big Sur Food & Wine Festival
When: November 7 — November 10, 2013
Where: Big Sur, CA
What: Now in its fifth year, the Big Sur Food & Wine Festival has a range of events planned for this year, including a "magical mystery" bus tour with wine and tapas, a Pinot walkabout, a "wine & swine" event, and all manner of dinners and tastings.

Savor Borgata
When: November 8 — November 10, 2013
Where: Atlantic City, NJ
What: The Borgata in Atlantic City once again hosts its annual Savor weekend with Bobby Flay and Michael Symon headlining. There will be demos, dinners, book signings, tastings, tequila and taco pairings, and a "Street Eats" event with Flay and Simon.

When: November 8 — November 10, 2013
Where: Santa Fe, NM
What: Santa Fe gets its first-ever food conference this year with the inauguration of FUZE.SW. James Beard award-winning chefs (including visiting chef Maricel Presilla) will join forces with authors, historians, and more to discuss New Mexican food culture. There will be panels about "culinary cannibalism," "chile wars," and the merits of the Frito Pie. There's also going to be a breakfast burrito bar.

Science of a Cocktail Party
When: November 9, 2013
Where: Chicago, IL
What: The Illinois Science Council is hosting a "Science of a Cocktail Party" fundraiser featuring science demos, a pop-rock cocktail, and a look at the world of 3-D printing. All this accompanied by an open bar and sustainable seafood hors d'oeuvres.

Capital Food Fight
When: November 11, 2013
Where: Washington, DC
What: The DC Central Kitchen hosts its annual star-studded event to raise funds for its mission to provide meals for low-income Washingtonians while also training unemployed men and women in culinary arts. Chairman José Andrés is co-hosting with former Top Chef contestant Carla Hall, while Duff Goldman will serve as "high stakes cakes" host. Local chefs — including Spike Gjerde (Woodberry Kitchen) and Erik Bruner-Yang (Toki Underground) will battle it out before the judging panel, which includes Tom Colicchio, Rick Bayless, Todd English, and Art Smith.

New York Taste
When: November 11, 2013
Where: New York, NY
What: New York magazine's annual New York Taste will bring together 40 of New York City's chefs for a one-night only tasting event. This year's lineup includes Dominique Ansel, Dale Talde, Laurent Tourondel, Joe Ng, Michael Psilakis, Masaharu Morimoto, George Mendes, and Jonathan Benno.

Worlds of Flavor
When: November 14 — November 16, 2013
Where: Napa Valley, CA
What: This year's Worlds of Flavor conference at the Culinary Institute of America's Napa Valley campus will feature presentations from Lisa Abend, Dominique Crenn, Larry Forgione, Thomas Keller, Nathan Myhrvold, and many more on the theme of "Millennial Appetites, Information Technology, Creativity, and Culinary Science."

Le Fooding: Le Clan Des Madones
When: November 15 — November 17, 2013
Where: Paris, France
What: Le Fooding is celebrating the contributions and ideas of female chefs in their upcoming event, "Le Clan des Madones." A series of three dinners will feature an all-female lineup including Delphine Zampetti (ChezAline), Adeline Grattard (Yam'Tcha), and Camille Fourmont (La Buvette).

Enjoy Arts & Tastes-St. Pete
When: November 15 — November 17, 2013
Where: St. Petersburg, FL
What: Duff Goldman, Ming Tsai, Scott Conant, Morimoto, Donatella Arpaia, and Curtis Stone are among the chefs headlining the first-ever Enjoy Arts & Tastes in St. Petersburg, Florida. Events include a poolside burger bash, a late-night dessert party, demos of all kinds, and a "sense immersion dinner" at the Museum of Fine Arts hosted by Todd English.

Dubai World Hospitality Championship
When: November 16 — November 18, 2013
Where: Dubai, UAE
What: Dubai is hosting its first World Hospitality Championship this month, bringing in chefs from all over the world to battle it out in the international culinary competition. In addition to a team of seven American chefs, former Bocuse d'Or contestant Richard Rosendale and Culinary Institute of America pastry chef Thomas Vaccaro will take part in a "WORLDCHEFS Culinary Dream Team" alongside chefs from Sweden, Thailand, South Africa, and Iceland.

Eater Eve
When: November 17, 2013
Where: New York, NY
What: Eater Eve returns once again this year to kick off the annual Eater Awards bash in New York City. This year's lineup of tastings will emphasize the culinary greatness of the American South, including the likes of Andrea Reusing (Lantern), Linton Hopkins (Holeman & Finch), Ashley Christensen (Poole's Diner), Nick Sullivan (610 Magnolia), and Rob Newton (Seersucker).

San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival
When: November 18 — November 24, 2013
Where: San Diego, CA
What: The 10th annual San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival will feature chefs from across the country including Alex Stupak and Richard Blais along with plenty of local chefs like Chad White, Jason McLeod, and Jaison Burke.

Music to Your Mouth
When: November 19 — November 24, 2013
Where: Bluffton, South Carolina
What: This year's celebration of South Carolina's Lowcountry involves such things as a "Kiss the Pig" oyster roast, a May River cruise with Julian Van Winkle and Allan Benton, a Potlikker Block Party, and some insane dinners. The lineup of chefs includes Sean Brock, Ashley Christensen, Gary Danko, John Currence, Kevin Gillespie, Linton Hopkins, Josh Keeler, Edward Lee, Chris Hastings, Mike Lata, and more.

Flavor! Napa Valley
When: November 20 — November 24, 2013
Where: Napa Valley, CA
What: This year's Flavor! Napa Valley festival benefiting the CIA will feature chefs and wine folk including Roy Choi, Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi, Todd English, Larry Forgione, Chris Kostow, Peter Mondavi, Robert Bath, Karen MacNeil, and Mike Grgich.

Chicago Food Film Festival
When: November 21 — November 23, 2013
Where: Chicago, IL
What: The Food Film Festival continues to wind its way across the country with this month's festival weekend at Chicago's Kendall College. Over the course of the weekend, they'll be screening 25 food-focused films and pairing them with tasting events. For example, a Lowcountry shrimp boil will feature screenings of films about sustainability and the local movement.

Barbados Food & Wine and Rum Festival
When: November 22 — November 25, 2013
Where: Barbados
What: The fourth annual Barbados Food & Wine and Rum Festival kicks off on November 22 with a lineup of chefs that includes José Garces, Marcus Samuelsson, and Anne Burrell. They'll be on hand for events that range from an island fish fry to a snorkel-filled catamaran cruise. While there will be wine tastings (such as a breakfast wine pairing session), as the name would suggest this event also will offer seminars on rum.

Cayman Cookout
When: January 16 — January 19, 2014
Where: Grand Cayman
What: Eric Ripert returns to Grand Cayman to host another iteration of his much anticipated Cayman Cookout. This year's lineup of chefs includes the recurring characters of José Andrés and Anthony Bourdain, as well as Daniel Boulud, Rick Bayless, Lidia Bastianich, Martin Picard, and more for a weekend of Caribbean culinary seminars, snorkeling, and gala dinners.

South Beach Wine & Food Festival
When: February 20 — February 23, 2014
Where: Miami, FL
What: The annual South Beach Wine & Food Festival returns yet again this year with a lineup of TV chefs such as Anne Burrell, Giada De Laurentiis, Tyler Florence, Rachael Ray, Aarón Sánchez, Michael Symon, and more. In addition to tastings, seminars and dinners, there's going to be a José Andrés-hosted celebrity chef golf tournament, a Spotted Pig 10-year anniversary dinner, and, of course, the burger bash.
