Inside San Francisco's TBD, the Casual Spot from AQ

One of San Francisco's most-anticipated fall openings, TBD, will swing its doors open tomorrow evening, and Eater SF has an early look inside. The restaurant, the second project from the AQ team of Matt Semmelhack, chef Mark Liberman, sommelier Kristen Capella, and bartender Tim Zohn, sits just two storefronts down from AQ and represents a more casual take on the AQ ethos: The 50-space boasts a "retro camping vibe," emphasizing a menu focus on wood-fired items made on a custom hearth and Grillworks grill. TBD is the first of many expansion plans for the AQ team, which is planning two more concepts (a French brasserie and a casual cafe) for 2014.
