Meat aficionado Josh Ozersky threw "the ultimate meat festival" in "the ultimate meat state" this past weekend, with the first-ever Meatopia Texas firing up in San Antonio. Eater Austin was on the scene and reports that "the festival had its shit together," with very few lines (and fast-moving ones at booths that did). Foreign & Domestic's Ned Elliott handed out lamb ribs to other chefs; Paul Qui served up Filipino delicacy sisig (pig face!); and NYC juice shop One Lucky Duck, whose shop remained open during the festivities, maintained a vegan-only establishment. Said Ozersky: "It was an unalloyed triumph, the best first year event I've ever done or attended. SA, Pearl, and Meatopia formed a special bond this weekend that I hope will last for many years to come."
