Recapping the week in Eater: Monday the 2013 Eater Awards were announced; the nominees and winners were toasted at a gala celebration at the Angel Orensanz Foundation in New York City (see the hangover observations and a video recap from the event). Also don't miss Amy McKeever's four-part interview series exploring the collaborative creative process at Grant Achatz and Nick Kokonas' Chicago restaurants Alinea, The Aviary, and Next.

Other must-reads include an interview with Chicago chef Iliana Regan, a recap of chef David Chang's Harvard lecture on fermentation, an Eater Elements on the Canlis Salad, and the introduction of Dave Arnold's hand-held broiler, the Searzall.
