Martha Stewart Bites Back at Her Food Photo Haters

New, 19 comments
Hillary Dixler Canavan is Eater's restaurant editor and the author of the publication's debut book, Eater: 100 Essential Restaurant Recipes From the Authority on Where to Eat and Why It Matters (Abrams, September 2023). Her work focuses on dining trends and the people changing the industry — and scouting the next hot restaurant you need to try on Eater's annual Best New Restaurant list.

Lifestyle maven Martha Stewart has trouble taking appealing photos of food, and apparently she has trouble accepting that fact, too. Shortly after BuzzFeed called Stewart out with a photo listicle titled "Someone Needs To Tell Martha Stewart Her Food Tweets Are Disgusting," Martha Stewart tweeted the above photo of pasta with white truffles from a dinner at Le Cirque in New York City. Calling anyone who thinks it's bad "ridiculous," Stewart seems to have failed in her attempt to prove she can take a decent food photo. Or maybe she's deliberately trying to post ugly photos?
