The Washington, D.C. City Council is currently debating a raise of the city's tipped minimum wage, and naturally that has developed into a bit of a controversy. Yesterday, local bar Boundary Stone faced intense backlash when it tweeted its opposition to the proposal that would raise the minimum wage from $2.77 to $8.25 per hour. Restaurateur Jeff Black chimes into the Washington Post that his waiters "don't need a raise" as they probably make more than the D.C. Council members. [WaPo]
