Next in Chicago Announces 2014 Menus

Just after officially announcing that Next will transform itself into a Chicago Steakhouse to kick off the new year, the always-changing Chicago restaurant has revealed its plans for the rest of 2014. After the Steakhouse menu wraps in April 2014, Next will do a "Chinese Modern" menu from May 2014 - August 2014. The menu asks "What happens when a thousand year-old cuisine collides with the mind-set of culinary innovation?" and items like noodles, buns, and dumplings "could be covered."

The final menu of 2014 will be called "Trio" and was inspired by the approach of Alinea's 10 year anniversary coming up in 2015. The restaurant will revisit the Tour de Force menu that chef Grant Achatz served at Trio on January 20, 2004, which sparked Achatz and Nick Kokonas to start talking about opening a restaurant together. The menu will be "a unique retrospective on the nascent ideas that became an identifiable cuisine" and will run from September 2014 - December 2014. Season tickets will be going on sale soon. Hopefully there will be more award-winning teaser videos about the menus to come.
