NEW YORK CITY— Chef Suzanne Goin will join April Bloomfield in the kitchen at her lauded Spotted Pig for a one-night collaboration inspired in part by Goin's latest cookbook, A.O.C. As per tradition at the Pig, the entire menu (including Goin's specials) will be offered a la carte and tables are first-come-first serve; the event's scheduled for Wednesday, November 20. NEW ORLEANS— Chef John Besh is the latest to jump on the "curated subscription box" train with the launch of BeshBox, a subscription service that sees Besh hand-selecting the culinary items in each shipment. Besh tells the Times-Pic each box features tools, ingredients, and pantry items that tie into his popular line of cookbooks. More information here. [NOLA.com]

LAS VEGAS— Chefs representing many of Las Vegas' top restaurants will go head-to-head in the annual "Culinary Clash" at the Venetian Las Vegas, scheduled for December 13 and 14. Emeril Legasse serves as master of ceremonies during the two-day event, which sees chefs cooking up baskets of mystery ingredients in a tournament-style competition. This year, the Venetian adds bartenders to the mix with the introduction of a Masters of Mixology competition, running concurrently. More information here. [EaterWire]
