Rick Bayless has been on an expansion tear of late, and now, new intel about Bayless two upcoming Chicago projects, one in Wicker Park and the other on Randolph Row. According to Eater Chicago, the long-stewing Wicker Park project will be a second Chicago location of Bayless' casual Mexican concept XOCO, with "a few tweaks," including the introduction of table service, a "family-friendly" vibe, and bar. Projected opening: March 2014.

The Randolph restaurant, meanwhile, will be "a completely new concept that you've never seen before," with Bayless claiming the restaurant/nanobrewery represents a project with "virtually nothing like it in the United States." The as-yet-unnamed project is at least a year out and details are scarce, but Bayless plans to roll out more information in the coming months.
