Travel Channel has announced that it has renewed Andrew Zimmern's series Bizarre Foods America for a sixth season (eight new one-hour episodes). The fifth season of Bizarre Foods America premieres on November 4. As previously reported, Travel Channel is also renewing Dangerous Grounds with La Colombe Torrefaction CEO and co-founder Todd Carmichael for a second season.
Travel Channel has also greenlit a new food and travel competition show called Chow Masters, with 13 half-hour episodes. The show will feature chef Sammy DeMarco of Sammy D's in Atlantic City (he also has restaurant in Las Vegas, Melbourne, and Perth, Australia). DeMarco will road trip with film director Frank Coraci (The Waterboy) to find "the three most innovative and delicious twists on comfort food classics." The winner will receive $10,000 and something called the Golden Skillet Award. No premiere date has been set yet.
