A new Portland, OR bar with 1,500 different bottles of liquor on its shelves is set to open today. Eater PDX takes a look inside the Multnomah Whiskey Library, and finds a bookish environment complete with study tables, desk lamps, and library ladders. A rotating menu will highlight 12-14 drinks from the extensive "spirits catalogue," the largest collection of which is whiskey. There will also be cocktails from bar manager/head librarian Tommy Klus and beers. Cocktails and neat drinks will be poured tableside. Says owner Alan Davis: "Our intention was by no means driven by wanting to have a certain number of spirits ... We wanted to have a really quality selection."
