yelp-wanted-small.jpgAn audit by the City of San Francisco reveals what some tech companies — who receive considerable tax breaks in exchange for community building — consider to be "giving back": throwing cocktail parties and paying employees to be active on Yelp. On the upside, there's always the sheer amount of money infused in the local restaurant economy: Social networking company Yammer, for example, "spent almost $750,000 in six months" on catering, client lunches, and "company get-togethers."
