Chef Cristeta Comerford Part of 'Skeletal' White House Shutdown Crew

As the government shutdown trudges on, it turns out that chef Cristeta Comerford is still cooking as part of a "skeletal" crew keeping the White House running. Obama Foodorama reports that Comerford usually oversees a staff of over a dozen chefs, and is now one of just 15 employees at the White House who have not been furloughed. Among those twiddling their thumbs (with plenty of time to check out Eater DC's Shutdown Specials map) is White House assistant chef/Let's Move! executive director/Senior Policy Advisor on Nutrition Sam Kass, who was furloughed last week.
