Today in gross things: Austin, TX bar Minibar (no relation to the José Andrés restaurant of the same name) apparently posted a sign outside this weekend that read "I like my beer like I like my violence: domestic." According to the bar, this was the work of a rogue employee who has since been "released." A new sign has gone up in its place that offers to donate $1 from every domestic beer sold to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
Oddly enough, a similar sign went up at Houston restaurant Roots Bistro earlier this year. (It read: "Beer should be like violence: domestic.") The restaurant since apologized for that sign as well. Good joke, everybody. Not offensive at all.
