LA hamburger restaurant The Oinkster has partnered with actor/comedian Nick Offerman to create their October Burger of the Month: the Nick Offerman "American Ham" Burger. The burger is made from a 6 oz beef patty which is topped with shaved ham, gruyere cheese, hot sweet mustard, mayonnaise, and pickles, served on a sourdough bun. A press release from the restaurant says the novelty menu item is "like the essence of manhood in a burger." Apparently Oinkster will also be doing Nick Offerman/Ron Swanson inspired giveaways throughout the month.
On the occasion of having his very own burger on the menu, Offerman tells the LA Times: "The other day I had an experience at the venerable Eagle Rock restaurant the Oinkster. They are doing me the great honor of creating a burger around some of the flavors in my own carriage. We did this burger tasting event, and some of the employees there I saw were visibly disappointed that I couldn't eat like Ron Swanson."
Of course, this Oinkster burger isn't the first burger inspired by the Parks and Recreations character. There's the show's own Ron Swanson Banana Burger, a bacon cheeseburger topped with half a banana, plus there's Eater's epic Ron Swanson Turkey Burger, a burger with an entire fried turkey leg in it.
