The Department of Health shuttered Danny Bowien's NYC location of Mission Chinese Food earlier today, and now, the restaurant has re-opened for business after a DOH follow-up. Bowien released a statement about the closure, which reads in part: "We were recently found to be in violation of several health codes and would like to address the information circulating on the internet by being completely transparent." (A sign on the door had originally suggested the restaurant was closed "because of leak in basement.") [Eater NY; previously] [Photo: Krieger]
