Grant Achatz Teases a Next Steakhouse Menu

Hillary Dixler Canavan is Eater's restaurant editor and the author of the publication's debut book, Eater: 100 Essential Restaurant Recipes From the Authority on Where to Eat and Why It Matters (Abrams, September 2023). Her work focuses on dining trends and the people changing the industry — and scouting the next hot restaurant you need to try on Eater's annual Best New Restaurant list.

Looks like Grant Achatz will be serving steaks soon. The chef of the ever-changing restaurant Chicago restaurant Next tweeted a picture of Chicago magazine's "Best Steakhouses" issue with the message: "Next. 2014." The restaurant changes menu and concept quarterly, and upcoming menus have not been announced yet. Next is currently serving a Bocuse d'Or-inspired menu, which Chicago Tribune critic Phil Vettel called "sheer decadence." The Bocuse d'Or menu is slated to run through December. Presumably there will be a trailer for the steakhouse menu soon, like this one for the Bocuse d'Or menu and this one for the elBulli menu. Other recent iterations have included a vegan menu, and a game-focused menu called "The Hunt." Stay tuned.
