The San Francisco 2014 Michelin Guide Unleashed

New, 1 comment

Michelin season continues: The 2014 Michelin Guide for the San Francisco Bay Area and Wine Country has been revealed, and with it, San Francisco has beat out new York City and Chicago for the American city with the most two-starred restaurants. Chef Michael Tusk's critically beloved Quince jumps from one star to two, while the just-revamped State Bird Provisions earned its first star this year. Three-star mainstays the French Laundry and the Restaurant at Meadowood retained their top honors.

Per Eater SF, a few restaurants found themselves on the hit list: Both La Costanera and Redd were demoted from one-star restaurants to the more casual Bib Gourmand list. Alexander's Steakhouse and Frances, meanwhile, both lost their stars.
