A.O.C. Cookbook Dinners; Edward Lee's Whiskey Notes

LOS ANGELES— Chefs Suzanne Goin and David Lentz will celebrate the release of Goin's latest book, The A.O.C. Cookbook, with a pair of collaborative dinners. Scheduled for November 3 and December 2 at the Hungry Cat's Santa Monica Canyon and Santa Barbara locations, respectively, each event will feature four courses sourced from the cookbook (including dishes like black bass with fennel puree), with books available for purchase and signing. Reservations are $60 and available here.

LOUISVILLE— As previously reported, chef Edward Lee has teamed with Jeffersons Bourbon for a "Chef's Collaboration" blended straight whiskey, and at a reveal party last night, Lee talks tasting notes: The whiskey combines five- and eight-year bourbons with a 14-year rye, resulting in a "whiskey that's complex, but it's not going to overpower the food," Lee says. SANTA MONICAManresa chef David Kinch visits Jeremy Fox of Santa Monica's Rustic Canyon Wine Bar & Seasonal Kitchen for a one-off collaborative dinner on November 11. The event, a launch for Kinch's new cookbook Manresa: An Edible Reflection, will offer a five-course collaborative dinner during two seatings; the first four courses will actually feature two dishes each (one from Kinch's cookbook, another designed by Fox to "complement" it). Reservations are $95; more information here. [EaterWire]
