And these are (mostly) not your grandmother's pie recipes: the Elsens make strawberry balsamic pie, sweet corn custard pie, salted caramel apple pie, and green chile chocolate pie that have pie-lovers lining up outside their shop for holiday (and every day) desserts. The photography is by Gentl & Hyers, the team behind cookbooks like The Zuni Cafe Cookbook and last year's winner of the JBFA Cookbook of the Year, Gran Cocina Latina.
