The brand-spanking new Eater Canada cities have revealed their first-ever Eater 38, your answer and ours to any question that begins, "Can you recommend a restaurant..." This highly elite group spans myriad cuisines and collectively satisfies all of your restaurant needs, save for those occasions when you absolutely must spend half a paycheck.
Over in Vancouver, restaurants on the list include a quintessential Izakaya (Kingyo Izakaya), a French bistro with Vancouver spirit (Tableau Bar Bistro) and a hub of locavore cuisine (Raincity Grill.) The Toronto list includes a boisterous nose-to-tail destination (The Black Hoof), a quintessential restaurant from a local legend (Lee), and a buzzy ramen shop from a prominent out of towner (Momofuku Noodle Bar). And in Montreal there's a "love letter to Quebec cuisine" (Au Pied de Cochon), two restaurants from two beloved local chefs (Joe Beef, Liverpool House), and an iconic delicatessen (Schwartz's).
