A Dallas restaurant has opened with cronuts™ on the menu, complete with the trademark symbol meant to acknowledge Cronut king Dominique Ansel's trademark of the name. According to SOUK chef Najat Kaanache, she invented the "cronut" name to describe "creative doughnuts" and holds the trademark in Dallas, noting that "right now [Ansel] has a good faith trademark application on file, meaning he had no prior knowledge in any realm." Kaanache has filed a protection application with the Patent and Trademark Office, which is pending. [D Mag] [Photo: Facebook]
