A California fire chief is in trouble today for using the county's emergency notification system to publicize a charity pancake breakfast, resulting in 27,000 residents receiving a text message. Fire Chief Eric Nickel tells CBS that in the past, "the city has used the alert SCC to notify about events," but that the city is now reviewing its use of the system. The breakfast ended up raising more than $10,000 for a local charity. [CBS] [Photo: CBS]
