Martha Stewart on Gwyneth Paltrow: 'I Started This Whole Category of Lifestyle"

New, 5 comments

Martha Stewart talked to Bloomberg TV and boldly shared her thoughts on unscrupulous bloggers and lifestyle maven/actress/cookbook author Gwyneth Paltrow. On bloggers, Martha asked: "Who are these bloggers? They're not editors at Vogue magazine." She continued: "I mean, there are bloggers writing recipes that aren't tested, that aren't necessarily very good, or are copies of everything that really good editors have created and done. So bloggers create kind of a popularity, but they are not the experts."

In the video posted today, Stewart talked about Gwyneth Paltrow and her lifestyle newsletter GOOP. Said Stewart: "I haven't eaten at Gwyneth's house and I've never seen how she lives... She's a charming, pretty person who has a feeling for lifestyle. She wants to be a lifestyle arbiter, fine, good. I think I started this whole category of lifestyle." And there's maybe a sort of feud going on between Martha Stewart and Gwyneth Paltrow? Back in 2011, Paltrow was holding a dinner party for her cookbook My Father's Daughter. Martha dropped by, but bounced early (a rep said she had a "previous dinner engagement"). "Martha didn't stay for the dinner," Paltrow told the New York Post. "She had a drink and then left."
