Hillary Dixler Canavan is Eater's restaurant editor and the author of the publication's debut book, Eater: 100 Essential Restaurant Recipes From the Authority on Where to Eat and Why It Matters (Abrams, September 2023). Her work focuses on dining trends and the people changing the industry — and scouting the next hot restaurant you need to try on Eater's annual Best New Restaurant list.

Chef and former Top Cheftestapant Dale Talde is planning to open a location of his popular Brooklyn restaurant Talde in Jersey City. He tells The Jersey Journal that "the neighborhood was really the draw" and that Jersey City "just feels right and fits." As with his other restaurants, Talde is working with restaurateurs David Massoni and John Bush on the project. Talde Jersey City will be the team's fourth restaurant, and is slated to open in Fall 2014.

Talde Jersey City will neighbor a new Italian "market, café and restaurant" called Carrino Provisions. That project is headed by the stars of the HGTV show Kitchen Cousins Anthony Carrino and John Colaneri and will "be an all-around culinary experience."
