8 Superyacht Chefs on the Luxe Life Sailing With Whales

Whales ahoy: superyachts are the nautical playground for the extremely wealthy, and there's an entire category of chefs that cater to these floating mansions. Much like private in-home chefs, yacht chefs are often the first people awake, cooking breakfast for both the passengers and the crew, and the last ones in bed at the end of the day.

But it's not all long hours in a tiny galley: yacht chefs travel the world, stopping in ports from Cannes to Tahiti, exploring local produce and seafood along the way. As chef Martin Vincent of the Arianna says in one of the videos below, "I've learned more about cooking on super yachts, traveling the world, than perhaps I did working for some of the top Michelin-starred restaurants in London." And besides, the yacht's owners will go to shore occasionally, leaving time for yacht shenanigans. Below, 8 videos explore the life of the private yacht chef.
