Why Michael Voltaggio Isn't Going on the Top Chef Cruise

New, 9 comments

Yep, Top Chef: The Cruise is a real thing that is happening, and the lineup is not entirely surprising: Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons are hosting and well-worn cheftestapants — including Hubert Keller, Tim Love, Jennifer Carroll, Tiffany Derry, Chris Hanmer, Michael Isabella, Spike Mendelsohn, Hosea Rosenberg, Angelo Sosa, Casey Thompson, Richard Blais, Yigit Pura, Paul Qui, and Fabio Viviani — are all packing their bags.

One exception is Top Chef season six winner and upper-case-hater Michael Voltaggio (ink and ink.sack in Los Angeles). When queried on Twitter as to why he's not going on the five-day Caribbean cruise that's touted as a "one-of-a-kind culinary vacation experience," he responded, "because im cooking in my restaurant." Priorities.
