Semi-scary and semi-sweary Sandra Lee shuttered her magazine Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade back in January, but she's coming back in a big way, this time partnering with TV Guide Magazine to launch a new magazine simply titled Sandra Lee. According to a press release, the new magazine will be broader in scope this time around and will "cover all aspects of living well — from cooking and entertainment to fashion and style."
Now anyone will be able to decorate their house much like Sandra Lee's 1950s Colonial home — replete with decorative polar bears — that she shares with her boyfriend, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Sandra Lee will be editor-in-chief of the magazine; issue #1 drops October 30, 2012.
"In the magazine world, it doesn't get more iconic than TV Guide Magazine, and I am thrilled to be partnering with such an institution in the space," said Sandra Lee in a statement. "Throughout my career, I've always been committed to being a resource for over-extended homemakers with aspirational, attainable, affordable information."
Keith Kelly reports for the New York Post that the print version "will be available on newsstands only" and "[n]o subscriptions will be sold." It will cost a shockingly unaffordable $6.99. It'll also be available as "tablet apps on Apple, Android and Nook platforms" (also $6.99).
The original Semi-Homemade magazine pushed ethical boundaries of brand integration and advertorial, will the new one do the same?
