About a year ago, in the midst of the London riots, armed thugs burst into the two Michelin-starred restaurant The Ledbury mid-service and demanded that diners drop to the ground and give them their belongings. The kitchen staff, however, responded by storming the dining room "with rolling pins, fry baskets, and other dangerous kitchen tools." But there was never video. Until today.
Yesterday, some of the rioters were sentenced to jailtime, and as a result of the trial there's now footage available from a security camera inside the restaurant of an unnamed chef wielding a rolling pin. The 16 rioters involved in the Ledbury looting and other attacks that night have been sentenced to up to nine years in prison each.
