Chinawhite, the London nightclub frequented by celebrities, star athletes, and these days many victorious Olympians, is offering a special $3,000 champagne cocktail. It's actually £2,012, or about $3,117. Dubbed "The Golden Cocktail," it contains Hennessy Paradis Imperial Cognac, Luxor 24ct gold-leaf champagne, and a set of 18ct gold rings at the bottom of the glass.
About those rings: "custom-made by London jeweler Hirsh in 18ct gold and include four precious stones; ruby, black diamond, emerald and sapphire." The cocktail is part of the of a seventeen-night series of nightlife events called "The Last Lap at Chinawhite," which was designed to attract stars, athletes, and rich people to the venue during the games.
The drink will be gifted to some Olympians who've gotten gold medals, but it's also available to normal people with a pre-order. Said club director James Spallone to Yahoo! Sports, "We make sure the athlets have a great time and have some special memories of London to take home. The golden cocktail is our special creation, and we have given some away." And it probably pairs well with a $69,000 Olympics lunch.
