In response to the massive turnout for Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, LGBTQ wedding magazine Equally Wed has organized a National Marriage Equality Day (aka Starbucks Appreciation Day) in which they encourage people to get caffeinated at Starbucks in the name of marriage equality. Starbucks has publicly supported marriage equality in the past.
Coffee not your thing? They have a list of other LGBTQ-friendly businesses you can support instead. Either way, there's a photo contest for the most "creative photo showing how you're supporting marriage equality."
This is the second big event held in support of marriage equality since Chick-fil-A founder Dan Cathy announced he was "guilty as charged" when it came to being anti-gay marriage. The first, a Same-Sex Kiss Day held at locations of the fried chicken chain, didn't have quite the same turnout as Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, which is estimated to have drawn half a million people.
National Marriage Equality Day has a leg up, though: the retweeted support of former N*SYNCer Lance Bass. Never underestimate the draw of a 90's boy band member?
