The New York Post's Page Six reports that musician and entrepreneur Jay-Z is dropping the $1.5 million lawsuit against Mike Shand, the ex-chef from his NYC sports lounge/sports bar the 40/40 Club.
On Wednesday Page Six broke the news of the lawsuit and yesterday it revealed that it was maybe over a chicken wing spice mix. Online court records show that a lawsuit over a breach of contract was filed on Monday, August 20th against Mike Shand by Twenty Ones Incorporated — the parent company of the 40/40 Club ownded by Jay-Z — but it was voluntarily dismissed yesterday. Oddly, the demand was only for $500,000, significantly less than Page Six reported.
But it's maybe not over yet: Shand's lawyer tells Page Six: "We still may sue the club for defamation of character and for the return of his possessions, including his laptop, which the club still has." Developing.
