Australian travel and lifestyle magazine Gourmet Traveller has announced its restaurant and chef awards for this year, and chefs Peter Gilmore, David Chang, and Ben Shewry are big winners. Gilmore's Sydney restaurant Quay was named best in the country and Shewry, of Melbourne's Attica, was singled out as the best chef in the nation. What makes Shewry's award all the more significant is that his category is decided by his peers — the chefs from the last edition of Australia's top 100 restaurants. Chang's Momofuku Seiobo was named new restaurant of the year. The winners:

Restaurant of the Year: Quay, Sydney
Chef of the Year: Ben Shewry, Attica, Melbourne
