Wondering what those super sexy vampires and their sexy mortal cohorts are cooking up in the upcoming True Blood cookbook? Lots of homey Southern cooking like creator Alan Ball grew up with: "Fried food, stuff that was stewed within an inch of its life, everything was full of salt, and it was delicious."
In the trailer for the book, Ball describes the foods of his childhood, including eggs, bacon and the strange Miracle Whip desserts his mom concocted. One featured halved bananas with Miracle Whip and chopped peanuts (Ball says it was delicious) and the other was canned pears with Miracle Whip and shredded Kraft cheese (apparently not so delicious). Below, the trailer — True Blood: Eats, Drinks, and Bites from Bon Temps comes out from Chronicle September 5 (pre-order on Amazon). Remember, "It's all about the bacon grease."
