Oh good, the Chick-fil-A controversy rages on. Now that the mayors and city aldermen of the world have have said their piece about the fried chicken chain president's "guilty as charged" anti-gay sentiments, this thing is hitting the presidential-ish level. Former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum announced on his Facebook page that he is joining fellow former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee in calling for a Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, which pretty much just involves giving Chick-fil-A your money by eating there as a counter-boycott. Santorum explains:
Militant gay groups are now boycotting the restaurant chain because of this and they are issuing hate-filled attacks on his family. It is sad that liberal groups call for tolerance yet they are vicious in their intolerance when someone disagrees with them.
The counter-boycott is set for August 1, just two days before the aforementioned "militant" gay groups are set to protest Chick-fil-A with a National Same Sex Kiss Day.
But hey, apparently some liberals like their chicken sandwiches too, as has come to light with the Daily Caller's shocking revelation that someone at the Obama for America campaign spent $62 at an Atlanta Chick-fil-A outpost — and that Romney for President has spent $500 at Chick-fil-A. Oh politics.
