Portland, Oregon is a very trendy place. So trendy, in fact, that there's now a Portland-themed restaurant in Vancouver, Canada. Say hello to Portland Craft, which opened back in May. According to its website, Portland Craft offers "locally sourced offerings inspired by the Portland food scene paired with the best craft beers & beverages Oregon has to offer!"
The menu includes a dish called "Put A Bird On It" — a riff on the Portlandia clip of the same name. The dish is "Hop-fried buttermilk chicken, house blend spices, Belgian waffle," so one can make the assumption that the "it," in this case, is the waffle? Anyway, also on the menu: a Charcuterie Platter, something you'll find pretty much on every restaurant menu in Portland, OR.
Question: Will Tom Colicchio will sue Portland Craft? Back in March the Wisconsin craft beer bar Craft Table & Tap changed its name to Craftsman Table & Tap because Colicchio's people reached out to them claiming an "incontestable trademark on the word craft as it relates to restaurants." There does not appear to be a Canadian trademark for "craft & restaurant," so there's that.
