Yesterday, Sunday, the California foie gras ban went into effect, and the folks over at the Food Republic went to a bunch of places in Los Angeles to try to get some. It's been said that the ban won't actually be enforced, but facing $1,000 fines, not one place they visited had the tasty engorged liver of a forcefed duck. [FR]
