Burger expert George Motz has a show coming to the Travel Channel this fall and, you guessed it, it's about hamburgers. The two-episode pilot for Burger Land, which is based on Motz's book Hamburger America, will air September 2 at 7:00 and 7:30.
In each episode, Motz will visit four hamburger restaurants in one region: the first three are picks from Hamburger America and the fourth restaurant is one he's never been to before, picked by a local. The first episode takes place in Southern Wisconsin, and Motz visits Wedl's in Jefferson, Village Bar in Madison, Pete's in Prairie du Chien and Solly's in Milwaukee; the second takes place in New Jersey and he goes to Rossi's in Trenton, Hamburgao in Newark, White Manna in Hackensack, and White Rose System in Linden.
Motz is working with production company Magilla Entertainment, and he tells Eater that he's pleased with the way the show was filmed: "Nothing is over-lit, nothing makes my hamburger heroes look stupid." He also mentions that the food is all shot with natural light. Depending on how the pilots are received, the Travel Channel will decide whether or not they want a full season, so burger fans, tune in.
