Are these the highest earning chefs? Yes, says Forbes. They estimated the yearly take (from May 31, 2011 to May 31, 2012) for ten wealthy chefs, and the wealthiest turned out to be Gordon Ramsay with $38 million last year. The list also includes Wolfgang Puck (#3), Mario Batali (#5), Alain Ducasse (#6), and Guy Fieri (#10), as well as food world personalities like Rachael Ray (#2) and Paula Deen (#4).
Notably absent: The Sunday Times richest chef, Jamie Oliver. Here's the Forbes list, plus a video sort of explaining the methodology in determining incomes, but it's all a little unclear.
