Fabio Viviani — the Twitter-happy Italian stallion best known for his run on Top Chef season five as well as Top Chef: All Stars — has plans open a restaurant in Chicago toward the end of the year or beginning of 2013. Eater Chicago reports that Viviani is teaming up with restaurateurs David Rekhson and Luke Stoioff, who also own Chicago's Public House and Bull & Bear.
Viviani has two restaurants out in Los Angeles, Firenze Osteria and Café Firenze; the yet-unnamed Chicago restaurant will be in the River North neighborhood (a space has been secured but he couldn't reveal the location). "I've been a fan of Chicago before I was involved with any business," said Viviani. "Chicago is getting to the point where New York was for restaurant business ... it's a great destination for fantastic food and food personalities."
