The above photo shows a model of what Ferran Adrià's elBulli Foundation will look like when completed in 2014 (more details on the Foundation here). The photo opp came as part of the announcement that the two teams from Harvard Business School had won elBulli and Telefónica's contest Ideas For Transformation, in which students from some of the world's best MBA programs submitted plans for the future of elBulli.
According to a release (in Spanish) from Telefónica, both teams presented plans that deal with technological advancements, potential investments, and economic sustainability. Harvard's Team A, for instance, is said to have focused on the potential benefits of exploring bioluminescence, the use of ultraviolet light, "socio-emotional designs," and 3D.
The year-long contest was deliberated over by a jury that included Adrià and a number of notable economists, including the Nobel Prize winner Joseph Stiglitz. The team from the London School of Business came in second place and earned a prize of 3,000 Euro.
