The food industry notoriously never sleeps, and over the weekend, in Las Vegas and Washington D.C., chefs, restauranteurs, and bloggers gathered for some good eats and drunken revelry. In Las Vegas, Luckyrice celebrated Asian night market food, and in D.C the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington handed out their annual Rammy Awards.
Eater Vegas' Susan Stapleton braved the lines at the Cosmopolitan and sampled fare from Asian titans like Susar Lee and Charles Phan. From the Top Chef contingent, Angelo Sosa and Paul Qui were in the house. In D.C, Amy McKeever lists the big 2012 Rammy winners: Jeff and Barbara Black's restaurant group, Vikram Sunderam, and Mitsitam Native Foods Cafe. There were also lots of hats, off-color political jokes, and a restauranteur's rant against food bloggers.
Visit Eater Las Vegas and Eater Washington D.C. for more on these events.
