Starbucks is opening the first stand alone Tazo tea store in Seattle this Fall. The AP reports that the coffee giant plans to set up the tea shop — which will offer more than 80 varieties of tea as well as a tea bar where customers can mix their own tea blend — near its headquarters. The shop will also serve a variety of pastries and tea drinks and sell chocolates and classic tea accompaniments like honey and infused sugars. Starbucks is putting $1.4 billion behind the Tazo brand and hopes to bring tea to the masses in the same way it did with coffee.
And that's not all they're bringing to the masses: Starbucks has been busy lately. Over the past couple of months, they've opened a juice bar, bought a chain of San Francisco bakeries, and planned a vending machine rollout. Phew.
