Restaurant Owner Dies After Getting Stuck in a Walk-In

Jay Luther, the 47-year-old co-owner of Nashville's Germantown Cafe and Germantown Cafe East, died tragically Sunday after accidentally locking himself in a walk-in freezer. Luther had gone to Germantown Cafe East to put food on dry ice during a scheduled power outage and got stuck in the freezer due to a broken door mechanism. Police suspect he died from the dry ice fumes; the restaurant was closed at the time. Luther apparently triggered a robbery alarm from inside the cooler, but the officers who swung by the restaurant didn't go inside after finding it secure. According to its Facebook page, the restaurant will remain closed until future notice. Here's a local news report:
