Paco Roncero, the Spanish chef who trained at elBulli and runs the two-Michelin-star La Terraza del Casino in Madrid, today opened a revolving restaurant, VIEW62, on the 62nd floor of Hong Kong's Hopewell Centre. It is the city's only revolving restaurant.
According to Incentive Travel, VIEW62 currently offers two tasting menus (14 courses at $180, 16 at $231) and shorter prix fixe options; the restaurant also opens for lunch and tea service. The dishes seem to be made up of Roncero's greatest hits, from both his two-star restaurant and more casual tapas concept, Estado Puro. See: Roncero's modernist tortilla, a staple of his tapas menu in Madrid, as well as sea bass with Iberico foam.
The restaurant, designed by Ricky Hung Wai Lung of UN Design, also has a bar area and DJ booth.
