As part of the New Orleans' Times-Picayune reorganization plans, layoffs were announced today, and among the victims was restaurant critic Brett Anderson. The Beard Award-winning Anderson was recently among those rumored to be up for the position of New York Times restaurant critic; the position went to Pete Wells instead.
Earlier today, Anderson tweeted a video for The Replacements' "Goddamn Job," the lyrics to which are "I need a goddamn job." The layoffs are part of the general implosion of the Times-Picayune, which is cutting its print edition to three days a week.
