Shake Shack Headed to Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts

The rumors were true: Word in from Shake Shack HQ reveals that Shake Shack is headed to Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, six miles west of downtown Boston. The restaurant will open in the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center, in a space left vacant by a children's store. According to the Boston Globe, it will clock in at "roughly 3,000 square feet." It is near Boston College — this location follows the pattern of the recently-announced New Haven location and the University of Miami location. The store will open "mid year 2013." NEW YORK, NY – May 8, 2012 – Shake Shack is bringing its burger stand to Beantown! Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) plans to open Shake Shack in Chestnut Hill, MA, in 2013. One of NYC’s most beloved gathering places, Shake Shack is a modern day "roadside" burger stand known for its delicious burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, beer, wine and more.

Shake Shack’s first-ever Boston location will sit along bustling U.S. Route 9 at 33 Boylston Street, Chestnut Hill. The new location will be situated among one of the region’s premier shopping destinations, which is currently being revitalized with a new village-like streetscape complete with tree-shaded pedestrian walkways and outdoor dining.
